Since the skirt of this angel is 90% beads and rich metallic threads, I consider the completion of this angel to be an act of love.

A stitcher wrote me requesting an all white bridal angel. I thought it sounded like a great idea and designed an angel in a white satin gown edged in light blue and embroidered with pearls. I made her head turn towards the stitcher, reaching out in a beckoning way. When designing I often listen to CNN and while working on this angel, they announced that the body of dear little Polly Klaas had been found. It crushed me as I'm sure it did anyone with a heart. I gazed at the white angel and sketched a little girl reaching out to her. I showed the sketch to some people on my staff and they started to cry and said I just had to put the child in the design. I made the child in a simple, flowing nightgown without lace or ruffles. Her little arm reaches towards the angel. A portion of the sales of this design will be given to the Polly Klaas Foundation.

After Angel of Mercy (LL28) was released, we received hundreds of requests from people who wanted a little boy or a baby to place with the angel, instead of the little girl shown in the first design. Angel of Mercy II was created in response to these requests.
This two-sided chart shows how to create several versions. There are options for the angel holding a baby or leading a young boy or a young girl. The angel is shown facing to the right, the opposite of the first "Angel of Mercy". She has long auburn hair that floats between her wings. Her gown is edged in white lace and gold scalloped edges with clusters of blue roses. The same threads, beads and linen are used as in the first Angel of Mercy, except for 284Z which has been replace by Petite Treasure Braid (PB01) from Rainbow Gallery. By combining the designs shown in Angel of Mercy and Angel of Mercy II, you can create two designs with the angels facing each other, and personalize the children shown in the pictures. The color of the baby's ribbon can be changed as desired, and the colors in the little boy's sweather can be changed to school colors or any other colors desired. The angel can also be stitched alone.

If I died tonorrow and this was the last Angel ever created under my hand, I would be at peace. she was begun 3 years ago and was just another little face and last summer she became an Angel. We couldn't understand her meaning and what she was beseeching heaven for ????? When the towers fell the models were 80% finished, so we all rushed her along because now we could see what she was tying to tell us. She is searching into the heavens for an answer ???? Her time is now. Her face searches the morning light for relief from her darkness. Each person who has seen or worked on her claims she is the perfect Angel for us all. Her golden wings tipped with the white of morning light and her bluest gown trailing into the night. her hands uplifted, one hand is empty and open and her right is full receiving the light. Everyone from the stitchers to the proofers to the framers to the mailers to the printers to my wonderful staff has worked at a breakneck speed because she is the one. I need medals for all of her heroes.

Angel of the Sea

The angel rises from the waves with splashes of tiny pearls. She holds a child in her arms and a seagull floates near her. Ribbons and stars surround her. I used lots of shades of blue and sea greens for the swirling waves crashing at her feet ... her dress is emerald. Angel of the Sea has a baby for several resons. I have baptized my children in the ocean, my blonde daughter has a blonde baby daughter and we live by the sea, many people asked for an angel of the sea to protect their family who work or travel on the ocean and I felt it represented the small and precious gifts of the sea. It could also mean the Christ Child, the great fisher of souls held in His mothers arms. She also seems to float carrying what is closest to her heart over the crashing waves.
