Her blue wings rise upward, her arms reach out to you, her gown floats in swirls of golden pale buttery tones. The design needed no colorful brocades or complicated beading patterns. Her simplicity seemed to be enough. Her whole gown is done in six shades from white to gold... her wings in just three shades of blue. Yet I feel she is the most spectacular angel I have ever done. I scattered some floating beads and a few sparkling touches on her bodice. I promise she will be a joy to stitch and one that you may have to do more than once because others will be drawn to the magic that created her.

Think about it ! You can purchase World Peace ! Wouldn't it be grand if it were that simple to ensure our children a peaceful future. My vision of peace has gorgeous floating fabrics of patterned silk and gold clusters. These represent the different nations of the world joined together. She is seated in front of an actual image from space of our planet earth. Her vision is calm and direct as she implores the viewer to reflect on such a dream. I wish for this angel to be a symbol of our global intentions as we are closer and closer connected on our little spinning planet.

Angelica

Angelica is an angel embellished with rich tapestry brocade (celery, deep blues, subtle oyster blues and burnished golds) ... her flowing hair encircles her face and she is holding a garland of deep red roses that swirl around her. Her romantic image was inspired by pre-Raphaelite paintings which I saw on exhibit. I have attempted to capture a glimpse of the grace and spirit these visions evoke. She could be stitched without wings and still be as lovely. She has clusters of robin egg blue beads that look like lace.
